What's in a Name?

Matthews 14:28-31 (the Message):

Peter, suddenly bold, said, "Master, if it's really you, call me to come to you on the water."
He said, "Come ahead."
Jumping out of the boat, Peter walked on the water to Jesus. But when he looked down at the waves churning beneath his feet, he lost his nerve and started to sink. He cried, "Master, save me!"
Jesus didn't hesitate. He reached down and grabbed his hand. Then he said, "Faint-heart, what got into you?"



Think about this, Peter took his eyes off God and started looking at his circumstances. As soon as he did, he started drowning in them. All he did was cry out to God reached out, pulling him up and saving his life.

God will stretch out his arm to you if you cry out to him. (or if you don't - all you have to do is grasp it and He pulls you up- like the man at the Pool of Bethesda)

I know I have been in places where it has felt like I'm sinking. It is so very easy to get caught up in worldly trappings (the economy, family, work, schedule, etc...), but all we have to do is look to Him, and He pulls us right out.

    Peter lacked the faith/doughted that he could actually walk on the water. How many times have you doughted gods plans ? I know I have had my moments. I love the part in this blog that states peter took his eyes of god and started to look at his circumstances. Its so true ! if you are not looking up then what are you looking at ?

    Some scriptures I would like to share

    Matthew 17: 20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

    Philippians 4: 12-13
    I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 can do everything through him who gives me strength.

    Jeremiah 29-11
    For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

    If you take the combination of these scriptures and gods promises in them you CAN’T lose. in phil 4: 13 he says I can do EVERYTHING ! through him who gives me strenth. do you believe that ? there is nothing that the word EVERYTHING does not cover, your finances your marriage, your health, Everything, even walk on water. you combine that with Jer 29-11 and he says he has plans to prosper and not harm you. You can’t lose if you hold tight to these scriptures there is nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals and living life accourden to gods plan for you. Just simply have faith and believe in what the Scriptures are saying!
